A completely handsewn project in the making for approximately 2 years now, with at least 70 hours of careful work. Measures 14" tall, 11.5" wide, and 16" long to mid-tail. Made from baby blue, yellow, and black velboa. Luxray has undergone many revisions and had many parts re-done as I improved over the years, and I am now satisfied with the results.
Features: Jointed head, shiny suede "gleam eyes", topstitch applique eyes. Thread-pulled mouth and paws, wired tail for posing, tush tag. Details such as yellow velboa parts, the nose, and parts where black meets blue were sewn inside-out. Luxray's back end tummy and feet are weighted with plastic pellets to keep it from nosediving. The weight gives it a good collector's feel.
Inspired by a mix of Sugimori-styled artwork, and large-headed Japanese UFO catcher plush.
Thanks to my boyfriend for the wonderful gift of my dream gift of many years - a DSLR, Canon Rebel EOS T3i!
I love the applique eyes! I hope to someday create such excellent creations, too. It really looks like all that time spent was well worth it, you did a great job capturing the character.
